Canvas Corp Brands May Challenge "7" mixed media Architextures card

Hi all,

This month Canvas Corp Brands has TWO challenges for you instead of ONE!
The card I have made, was done for the 'card only' challenge, where the theme is '7'.
This one ends June 5, just like the main challenge.
Here's the link to the CHALLENGE.
Use #ccbchallenge somewhere when linking up, to be considered.

For the main challenge (same link), we would love for you to alter an object or whatever you want. Make something old NEW again. You still have until June 5 to do so!

-----------------------------------------------------------------
My process:
Cut out a cardboard 7 in the desired size.
Using various #7gypsies papers, I cut 7 pieces of paper to glue to my cardboard 7.
I used:
*7gypsies American Vintage Collection - State Plates
*7gypsies Ordre du Jour - Seize the Day - Pen & Tell Her
*7gypsies Wanderlust - Pack your bags

I distressed the edges with my scissors, and inked them with black ink.

I used a paper from the new 7gypsies #Architextures Mix and Match Book Pink,
glued it to a piece of cardboard using gel medium and then sprayed some
#TatteredAngels Glimmer Mist - Stone, through a #TCW Stencil, 262S.
Also from Architextures, I used the Short base - Doilies pack.
I cut off 3 doilies, adhered them to my paper and sprayed some Tattered Angels
Glimmer Mist - Red Tipped Roses, onto them and their surroundings.

From my brandnew 7gypsies Architextures Parchment Rub-Ons - Live,
I used the lady with the broom and bucket and rubbed her on my card. No fuss at all.
So different from traditional rub-ons! And the look? Like a stamp! WOW!

I used a sticker from the Architextures Stash Paque, 'Create', and colored it a little with brown ink to soften its black and white.
I added some paper from the 7gypsies 'Wanderlust' pad, underneath my 7gypsies truck. I colored that truck with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze - Bon Bon and Tailfin.
I cut out some paintings from a paper called 'Art Wall', from the Architextures 8 by 8 paper pad.

From another Architextures Stash Paque, I took the soft green label, cut it in half and added it on top of my 7 and on the right side of the card.
The text 'live life throughyour art' is from the package of the Architextures rub-ons! I thought it was appropiate, because I am really one who lives through my art. I am not much of a traveler. I love being at home and creating my art. Through which I tell my story.

Using Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Bon Bon and Tailfin, I gave my rub-on lady a little color. Her face and body were done with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist 'Red Tipped Roses'.

I cut up some sections of my cardboard 7, and either stapled them together, or strung them together with leather cord. I added one step crackle medium on the 7 and the paintings.

So, I hope this card has inspired you! Check out what some others of the crew have created for this challenge, as well as the main challenge. Join us, and win a guest designer spot WITH ample CCB goodies to use!
Hope you love the new 7gypsies Architextures as much as we do, too.

"Words & Paintery" May Challenge, Shabby Steampunk Shack

Hi all,
Time for a new challenge over at Words & Paintery! You can find it HERE
Check out the nice 'n rusty moodboard, the designteam's interpretations and play along!
You have until June 15.

So, I started out with this cute, little, crooked house.

My assistant and I started rusting a bunch of things: some diecut pipes I made with my Bigshot, using my latest Tim Holtz pipes die and cardboard. A gear-clockwork thingy, loose gears. I wasn't sure what I wanted to use, so we just rusted some items, using mostly my Viva Decor Rust paste.

I gave the house a coat of greenish acrylic paint, then a coat of crackle medium,
then another coat of blue acrylic paint. I sanded it a bit, too.

Once the Rust Paste was dry, I dropped some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Brass onto some parts and rubbed some Inka Gold - Turquoise onto other parts.

I added the pipes and gears where I liked them and glued everything in place. I sprinkled some Infusions - Sleight Blue on my project and sprayed water to activate it. The black soot gave it an even more realistic distressed feel.
Using gel medium, I added micro beads in gold an black on my project here and there.
I sprinkled and dropped some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Verdrigris onto my project too, for a finishing touch. It's a wonderful copper color with turquoise.

I wrapped some wire around the upper pipe and lower tap,
and strung some teardrop shaped beads in the wire.

The text 'Memory Lane' is from a 7Dots sheet.

To the backside of the window, I stapled some chicken wire and rusted it a bit.

I hope my take will have inspired you to create something too!
